Yes. Tap Continue without account and everything that doesn’t need Ravelry is yours straight away. All five tabs are there.
What works without an account
- Import PDF patterns and save patterns from a website or YouTube link
- Search all of Ravelry’s patterns, with the filters, and open any pattern to read its details, gauge and suggested yarns
- Search Ravelry’s yarn database, open a yarn and see its colourways
- Save patterns to Favorites — kept on your device
- Keep projects, with notes, photos, steps and row counters
- Add yarn to your stash by hand, or by searching Ravelry to fill in the details
- Bits and bobs, all of it
That’s more than you might expect: pattern and yarn search work through Ravelry’s public data, so you can browse the whole catalogue without signing in.
What a Ravelry account adds
- Your Ravelry library syncs in, so patterns you own are already there
- Your stash syncs, with quantities and colourways
- Your projects sync both ways
- Your queue — the Queue section only appears when you’re signed in
- Your Ravelry favourites, for both patterns and yarns
- Your hooks and needles come in from Ravelry
- Yarn palettes and yarn favourites — these two sections need an account
- Adding a pattern to your Ravelry library from inside the app
A couple of differences worth knowing
Yarn colourways appear as a list rather than a photo grid when you’re not signed in. The photos come from other people’s stashes, which needs an account to load.
Favourites you save without a connected account live on your device, not on Ravelry. They stay yours, and they aren’t affected by connecting an account later.
You can connect Ravelry whenever you like from More → Settings — nothing you’ve already added is lost. See Connecting your Ravelry account.
