Signing out disconnects your Ravelry account from Yarn Squirrel. Everything you made yourself stays exactly where it is — and nothing at all is deleted on Ravelry.
What stays
- Patterns you imported as PDFs, with their files, notes and attached parts
- Patterns you saved from a website or YouTube, with their links
- Projects you made yourself, with their notes, photos, steps and row counters
- Stash entries you added by hand
- Bits and bobs you added yourself — safety eyes, buttons, stuffing and the rest
Two kinds of pattern are quietly rescued rather than lost:
- A Ravelry pattern you’d merged with your own PDF becomes an imported pattern. It keeps the PDF, its extra parts, the cover picture, the craft, the designer and the description.
- A Ravelry pattern carrying a web or YouTube link you’d added becomes a saved link instead, so the link survives.
What’s removed from this device
- Patterns that only existed on Ravelry — your library and favourites from there
- Projects synced from Ravelry, along with their notes, photos and counters
- Stash entries synced from Ravelry
- Saved yarn details, books and magazines, and favourite bundles
- Hooks and needles synced from Ravelry (the ones you added yourself stay)
“Removed from this device” is the important part. Your Ravelry library, projects and stash are untouched on Ravelry itself. Sign back in and they all sync down again.
Signing out is not deleting your account
These are two different things, and only one is permanent:
- Sign Out disconnects the account. Reversible — sign in again whenever you like.
- Delete Ravelry Account opens Ravelry’s own website, where you can close your Ravelry account for good. Yarn Squirrel can’t undo that, and neither can we.
A couple of details worth knowing
Your imported patterns keep any link to a Ravelry pattern they had, but the link is cleared, since the Ravelry side of it is no longer on your device. Linking them again after signing back in takes a tap each.
If you made a project yourself and linked it to a Ravelry pattern, the project stays — notes, photos and counters intact — but it will no longer show the pattern it was linked to.
Patterns you favourited while no account was connected are saved on your device, so they are not affected by any of this.
